Actor Dimitri Boetto accused of fatally beating his ex-brother-in-law

A real tragedy unfolded in front of a bar in Apt, in Vaucluse, on Wednesday January 1, 2025. During the lunch break, a fight broke out between two men in their fifties “who knew each other well”. Blows were exchanged for “a few minutes”, without any weapon being used, and one of the two men fell to the ground, unable to get up. His opponent fled while another bar customer called for help, according to the story given by “Le Dauphiné Libéré”. Transported to the emergency room of Apt hospital, the victim died.

In the hours that followed, a man suspected of being the perpetrator of the fatal blows was arrested without resistance at Lyon Saint-Exupéry station as he was preparing to reach Paris by TGV. It is, as revealed by “Vaucluse Matin”, the actor Dimitri Boetto, notably known for his roles in “Scènes de Ménage” (M6), “Until here everything is fine” (Neflix) or even “Gueule of angel” with Marion Cotillard. According to our colleagues, the 51-year-old man, originally from Apt, attacked his sister’s ex-partner. In police custody, he allegedly explained that he had a “family disagreement” with the latter, but assured that he did not know that he had died.

An autopsy of the victim was requested and an investigation opened for “assassination”.

Already sentenced to prison

France Bleu recalls that in May 2023, Dimitri Boetto said in an interview for the YouTube channel “skubmedia” that he had been in prison “for several years for acts of criminal association and possession of weapons”. He explained that he had then “expressed himself with the wrong codes, the codes of the young male full of testosterone”. The actor has, moreover, never hidden his love for boxing and combat sports, which he practices at a high level, as well as for shooting.
