Squid Game weighs in the game. While season 2 is a hit on Netflix, the South Korean series will have the right to a third season. And it was the platform itself that spilled the beans, through a short teaser that got more than one fan of the fiction talking on social networks. 20 Minutes takes stock of this upcoming act 3.
A global success
In view of the scenario (no spoilers here) and given the success of season 2, a third season of Squid Game seems as logical as possible. It is the series that was most viewed over a week on Netflix, accounting for no less than 68 million views (487,600,000 hours viewed). South Korean fiction currently ranks top 1 in 93 countries around the world. Record figures, which surpass those of Wednesdayuntil now the benchmark for series on the streaming platform. Even before this global hit, creator Hwang Dong Hyuk had already announced that a season 3 of Squid Game would be available shortly after season 2.

1, 2, 3 sun in the teaser
The episodes of this season 3 of Squid Game – which should definitely be the last – are, today, in post-production. The platform even accidentally revealed on its Netflix Korea X account that this third and final season of the series would be released on June 27, 2025, in the caption of a teaser video. Despite its deletion, the publication has far from gone unnoticed. For his part, Hwang Dong-hyeok had indicated to our colleagues to Variety that this season 3 would be released “in the summer or fall” of 2025, still on Netflix.
On the teaser side, shared then also deleted by the broadcast platform, some Internet users were able to see the famous robot dolls Jack and Jill preparing to launch a brand new deadly game 1,2,3, sun, one of the flagship events of the story. Images that viewers even saw at the end of the credits of the last episode of season 2.
Finally, note that the production of the two seasons was carried out simultaneously, which makes this “release” a long-term series, with no less than 14 episodes divided into two parts. We can therefore speak more of season 2, part II for what is announced as season 3. Never mind, the phenomenon Squid Game is in full swing.
