Festive retrospective before turning the page. Before welcoming 2025, we invite you to relive the significant moments of the events organized throughout 2024. Shows, concerts, traditional festivals and new events have punctuated the life of this territory, to the greatest pleasure of the inhabitants.
The year 2024 ends, a new one begins, and it is an opportunity for us to take a look back at the many magnificent events that have taken place in recent months. Historically, on the municipal territory and that of the CC2R, everything has been done to guarantee the success of these events.
A summer dedicated to music and conviviality
This year, the talented team of the Pink Piano kicked off on July 5 and 6, with their show “50 years of songs”. Both evenings were sold out in the Calypso room. The festivities continued brightly on July 14, at the port-canal tavern, where more than 4,000 people gathered to party. The Spirit company heated up the atmosphere with a cocktail of songs, preparing the ground for the show “Guilty Pleasure”, a real return to the hits of the “70s”, “80s”, “90s” and 2000s, for the greatest nostalgic pleasure.
The summer also brought its share of firsts: in the North district, the Pontus garden hosted a unique event: a concert by the quartet of Toulouse guitarist Jérémy Rollando. Back at the tavern on July 27, the American evening enchanted the participants thanks to the group À-Mi-Temps Brass, followed by the Swing Cocottes, who offered a journey through time, mixing swing, lightness, songs and laughter. The evening ended in style with the Céré Boogie Band, a group of six musicians passionate about blues, rock and country.
On the other side of the canal, the slaughterhouses hosted two exceptional evenings: on August 2, Christelle Chollet presented her new show, “Reconditionnée”, followed, on August 3, by Élie Semoun, who won over the Valencian public with his incisive humor, garnering a real ovation.
On August 17, the port-canal tavern took on Celtic airs during the Irish evening hosted by the Comrades Irish Band, accompanied by three Irish dancers who thrilled the public with a festive program mixing traditional ballads and covers of the group AC/DC.
Traditions and magic for a successful end of the year
In September, the traditional festivals of Valence-d’Agen delighted the inhabitants with a rich and varied program, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8. The first evening was marked by the infectious energy of the Newzik orchestra, made up of 18 musicians and singers. On Saturday, it’s time for the Boom Years, a musical journey through the hits of yesterday and today. Finally, on Sunday evening, the group Loving Tribute offered a captivating tribute to Coldplay on the alleys of September 4.
The season ended in October, with Halloween day, Place Nationale, and a magic show in the Jean-Baylet hall, a successful first edition. Even more recently, the Christmas village and the New Year’s Eve evening lit up the last days of the year. But we will talk about this in our next edition.
Goodbye 2024, heading for 2025!
