A new year begins. In Paris, this Wednesday January 1, 2025 will be synonymous with less busy streets than usual. While many businesses, cultural sites and services remain closed at this time, public holidayothers have chosen to welcome the public. We take stock of what is open or closed in the capital.
What is open
- THE parks and gardens (check timetables here)
- Several marketslike that of Saint-Germain (6e district), Beauvau (12e), Passion (16e), The Chapel (18e)…: check the timetables here.
- Some leisure or cultural places: the zoological park, the acclimatization garden, the Paris Aquarium, the Atelier des Lumières, the Center Pompidou, the Arab World Institute, the Grévin museum, the Orangerie museum, the Orsay museum, the Luxembourg Museum, the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac Museum…
- Some monuments : the Eiffel Tower, the Conciergerie, the Montparnasse tower, the Sacré-Cœur basilica of Montmartre, Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral (by reservation)
- Some ice rinkssuch as the open-air ice rink at Parc André-Citroën (15th), that of the Grand Palais or the Tuileries garden: information here

Note that parking will be free in Paris, like all public holidays and Sundays.

On the other hand, the Samaritan is open from noon to 8 p.m.
