The Le Sonart music school celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024. Created in 2014, at the initiative of Nolwenn Le Bars, the music school of the Pays de Callac, became the EMA (music school and arts) with the addition of drawing classes. For two years, the school has now been called Le Sonart and offers music lessons, individually or in groups, as well as plastic arts lessons. Momo Miyaguchi, singing teacher, has been there since the creation of the association.

Collective workshops

For the first year, a solidarity fund was set up and six people from low-income families were able to benefit from a 50% reduction in their education costs. “Thanks to money from municipal subsidies as well as GPA, the sums made it possible to open collective workshops. A check for €250 was given to five children and one adult, in order to obtain a reduced rate, after examination of the family quotient file,” underlined the professor.

“For 2025, we hope for more help from GPA and the Department,” added Anita Bannink, the treasurer and Xavier Champagne, the president.

Sonart has eight teachers, sixty students (children and adults), on two teaching sites (Callac and Bourbriac) and brings together students from twenty-two municipalities.
