Jimmy “MrBeast” has responded to posts comparing him to Taylor Swift after news about his upcoming YouTube video involving pilots flying in a private jet and living in the aircraft for 100 days. For the unaware, Taylor Swift has faced a lot of criticism for using her fleet of private jets to travel over the last couple of years by environmentalists.
A clip of MrBeast discussing his upcoming video about a couple of pilots living in a private jet and being allowed to fly it anywhere in the world went viral on social media on December 30, 2024. Many have started criticizing him for the environmental impact it will cause.
Posts, where Jimmy has been compared to Taylor Swift, have garnered a lot of traction on websites like X. @kubaswift’s post has racked up over half a million impressions in hours. The X user wrote this in response to a post about the YouTuber:
“I don’t wanna hear sh*t about Taylor ever again”
In response, MrBeast acknowledged the posts that raised concerns about the environmental impact the private jet in his video would have. The content creator has claimed that carbon emissions from the jet will be monitored and offset. He also pointed out that flying the aircraft during the challenge is optional and the contestants may choose to not go anywhere:
“I see tweets asking how they’ll fly for 100 days, the flying is a choice! They can just stay in the airport and don’t have to fly anywhere it’s just an option to make it more fun. Also we’re tracking the carbon emitted and gonna offset it at the end of the video”
What is the upcoming MrBeast video about living in a private jet for 100 days?
On December 30, 2024, a clip featuring MrBeast talking about one of his upcoming projects went viral on X. In the video, the YouTuber explained that he and his team have been working with two aviation school graduates to film a challenge where the two pilots will have to live in a private jet for 100 days.
“This one is crazy. We bought a private jet and then, um, we found two people who just graduated aviation school. Put them inside the jet. Closed the door and I said, ‘If you guys live in this private jet for 100 days, I’ll let you keep it.’
The rules dictate that the contestants cannot leave the plane but are allowed to fly anywhere during the time and MrBeast will pay for the fuel. This has caused so many people to speak out against the video:
“They can fly it anywhere around the world, they get unlimited fuel, blah, blah, blah. So, they can fly the jet to New York, land it, and then Uber Eats some pizza, you know? But they can’t leave it.”
In related news, the YouTuber’s Prime Video show Beast Games premiered earlier this month on December 19. Here is a breakdown of the first couple of episodes for those wondering if they should jump in and watch MrBeast’s version of reality television.
