Pierre Palmade will not appeal his conviction, the comedian in prison for Christmas

According to our colleagues at RTL, Pierre Palmade did not appeal his sentence to five years in prison, including two years, for “unintentional injuries” for the accident he caused on February 10, 2023.

There will be no second trial. On Wednesday, November 20, Pierre Palmade was sentenced to five years in prison, including two years for “unintentional injuries” with the aggravating circumstance of being under the influence of drugs. A sentence which punishes his reckless driving on February 10, 2023, the day his vehicle collided head-on with that of Yuksel Yakut, who was then transporting his 6-year-old son and his sister-in-law, Mila, 27, pregnant with six month and a half, who lost her baby.

Two weeks after this conviction, RTL affirms that the comedian will not appeal this sentence and accepts his sentence. A decision that he would have taken on the same day of the trial and which should be followed by an appointment with the prosecutor, in order to decide on the prison and the date on which he will be incarcerated. According to our colleagues, who cite a source close to the matter, the Bordeaux- prison center should be chosen and the comedian incarcerated “just before Christmas”.

Pierre Palmade received a three-year “suspended sentence” and a two-year sentence, which means that he will be incarcerated for two years (maximum, sentence reductions are possible, particularly for “good behavior”) and that he will not will serve the other three years only in the event of a repeat offense.

A sincere apology

During his trial on November 20, Pierre Palmade apologized to the family broken by the accident he caused. “The serious injuries of MY and the trauma of MC (who lost her fetus, Editor’s note), it knocked me down. I am really overwhelmed, tested to see them in real life,” declared the 56-year-old artist in a hoarse voice during his first words on the stand. Turning towards the benches of the civil parties, his hand on his stomach, his face ravaged, he addressed them directly to “ask for forgiveness from the depths of (his) being”.

On February 10, on a departmental road in Seine-et-, Pierre Palmade was driving a car which hit a vehicle coming in front. In addition to the actor, the accident left three seriously injured: a 38-year-old man, his 6-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lost the baby she was expecting after the collision. The survivors warn everyone of the after-effects, which should mark the rest of their lives.
