“The festival has not yet paid its water and electricity bills”
Christian Troadec looks back on the relationships between municipal services and the Vieilles Charrues team. He refutes accusations that the festival was “put several obstacles in the way, including the ban on municipal services from interacting with its teams…”; “As in any community or company, prior contact must reach decision-makers, bosses or elected officials, who then give their instructions,” he notes. He also “denies” the accusations of blocking on his part. “The proposals are made and the decisions are taken by the municipal office”, declares before adding: “We are obviously in favor of maintaining the Vieilles Charrues in Carhaix and are doing everything for that but we do not want them to monopolize the Kerampuilh site which must remain public and open to all,” he says. On the impossibility of “installing campsites 4, 5 and 6 in the Kergorvo area, from 2026…”, Christian Troadec notes that the “director of Vieilles Charrues, Jérome Tréhorel, himself signed the agreement which organizes the shift of the Kergorvo 2 campsites, installed in an economic zone, to the Métarie-Neuve zone, in 2026.
He also returns to the fee of 367,000 euros, explaining that the “festival has not until now paid its water and electricity bills, nor the working hours of municipal staff”. Pinned by the Regional Chamber of Accounts, “the municipal council adopted a price scale also applied to other events (Festival Motocultor, camper van festival, etc.) which accepted it without problem”. Finally, regarding the sale of the Chamber of Agriculture building, Christian Troadec reveals that “in a recent letter, the notary of the Chamber of Agriculture proposed to the city to acquire the buildings amicably.
