Marie-Mai’s daughter Gisèle found herself on the same stage as her famous mom on Monday at the Canada Day show in Ottawa. “So proud of my big Gigi,” the singer wrote under the photo of her daughter shared on Instagram.

Wearing a red dress for the occasion, the 7-year-old girl flew a huge paper airplane of the same color above her head. The little blonde, daughter of singer-songwriter David Laflèche, seemed to take her job very seriously.

“Not a little proud of what we accomplished as a family this weekend! Hosting Canada Day, performing for the first time On the floor and witness Gigi’s first solo steps on stage… Good work David Laflèche. We have something to be proud of!! Always cool to work alongside you! Gigi and mom xxx”, wrote Marie-Mai under a new Instagram post Tuesday morning.

Marie-Mai hosted Canada Day in the afternoon with Jay Malinowski, musician and member of the group Bedouin Soundclash. The latter did not fail to emphasize the pleasure he had working with his Quebec co-host.

“What an absolute pleasure to co-host this Canada Day show with Marie-Mai. Let’s do it again!” he wrote alongside a photo of the pair backstage.

The singer-songwriter, who will soon turn 40, performed her new song On the floor for the first time on stage in front of the crowd of festival-goers dressed in red and white. The release of his next album is scheduled for the fall.
