Cult film which marked an entire generation, LOLreleased in theaters in 2009, is a pleasure at all times, as funny as it is tender and touching. Director Lisa Azuelos has managed with great accuracy to capture the spirit of the times and what youth is like at the time. And her characters are all very endearing, especially the young Christa Théret and a brilliant Sophie Marceau, incredibly natural. Funny and moving, the actress, who finds herself on the other side of the mirror almost thirty years after La Boum, will definitely seduce you!
LOL addresses “to young people aged 7 to 77”declares Lisa Azuelos. “I made this film to tell teenagers that they have been unmasked and to their parents that they are not alone: the stupid age, the one where we believe we know everything and where we replies “it’s okay!” as if nothing was ever serious, it’s catastrophic, but we’re getting out of it!”

Pour Lisa Azuelosit was essential to treat the bruises in the soul with humor. “My brain has always needed this lightning rod”notes the filmmaker. “And then lightness does not prevent us from asking existential questions. To us the little English girls, The Under-Gifted, The party, The Beach Hotel, The slap… I wrote LOL as a tribute to these films which marked me and speak so well about adolescence.”
