Hundreds of royal poodles were gathered Saturday in Lévis, in Chaudière-Appalaches, in support of the TOGO foundation.

“They are dogs that are very “family” dogs: they are not dogs that like to be alone. They are dogs that are also very active, very intelligent; [ils] “They learn to say it over time,” explained Marie-Audrey Thibault, organizer of the royal poodle gathering.

Some owners traveled long distances to participate in the event.

“It’s fun, it’s a great gathering,” proclaimed one of them, who came from Sept-Îles. Another even came from the North Shore of Montreal.

Entrance fees for this first edition of the royal poodle group are donated in the form of donations to the TOGO foundation, which gives a second life to abandoned dogs by training them to assist people suffering from mental health problems.

“The important thing is to save two lives, to save [celle] abandoned dogs and [celle] people who need psychological assistance,” explained one of the members, present in Saint-Étienne-de-Lauzon, a district of Lévis.

Several services were offered on site for owners and dogs such as a tattoo artist, handmade stuffed animals, linen as well as jewelry made with animal hair or with a paw print.
