It has been two years since the gates of the Bank of France building were closed, on Place Franklin Roosevelt in Périgueux. The building was bought by entrepreneurs in 2022with a view to a hotel project, and has not been open to the public since. However, this Friday, June 28, an exhibition of the association “Moments d’exception” began: six artists have displayed their works throughout the rooms of the former bank, the opportunity to (re)discover this Périgord heritage.

The exhibition lasts for three days. © Radio France

A “huge” building

The large entrance hall, the counters but also the remains of the safes are to be crossed during the visit, dotted with works of materials and shapes as varied as each other. A few years ago you may have entered these places, for example to exchange foreign currencies, but you may also have only been able to pass by the large, black, locked gate.

A visit until this Sunday, June 30

So, to revive memories or reveal to you what is hidden behind these large doors, you have until Sunday June 30. With an entry price of 4 eurosthe exhibition opens its doors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
