“Music, you don’t put it into words, you listen to it and you experience it!” replies DJ Manu le Malin when asked to describe his style. At 53, he is preparing to live his 28the edition of Astropolis in Brest. In addition to playing there every year, the Parisian artist maintains an intimate relationship with the eternal Breton electronic music festival. 

“Today I share melancholic, dark, intense music, which can sometimes make you feel uncomfortable, without forgetting the psychedelic touch , lists the one who occupies the position of programmer of the Mekanik stage. On this stage dedicated to the most extreme side of electronic music, from industrial techno to drum’n’basshe offers his vision of hardcore.

“I need something that grooves, with soul ,insists Manu. On paper, I should have become a DJ. house. I listened to soul, rocksteady, ska. Today, I try to groove martial and industrial music.

This year, he invites RABBeAT. The young producer from Lyon caught the eye of Manu le Malin. “If I can highlight the artists hardcore that I like, I’m not going to hold back!

If Astropolis plans to support Manu le Malin in the creation of MKNK, a label stamped hardcore, it also highlights this niche style at the Dôme, its springboard scene. As evidenced by the presence of Ogmah, a Rennes DJ, oscillating between techno and hardcore industrial.
