On the menu of the festival dedicated to the performing arts, 27 multidisciplinary projects, which will unfold from the Forteresse du Belluard to the old Poya barracks.

For ten days, the festival will welcome artists from Switzerland, but also from Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Spain, France, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Poland and Tunisia. Artistic director Laurence Wagner, 40, designed its fifth and final edition, with the momentum of the “fury for living”.

In a context “where violence rages and divisions are reinforced”, the edition invites “rebellious artists who work to undo oppressive legacies and build dignified destinies”. It is an “embrace of life and love,” said the organizers when presenting the event a month ago.

Star of the series “Tatort”

Beyond that, the festival speaks of “urgency, impatience and hope”. The event will open its doors this year with “Fremde Seelen/Foreign Souls” by Eva-Maria Bertschy. This is an investigation into the traces of a Vietnamese priest who lived in the canton of Fribourg.

Bilingual, the creation will be performed by the actress Carol Schuler, star of the German-speaking television series “Tatort”, and by the Congolese musician Kojack Kossakamvwe. Last year, the festival attracted more than 5,000 visitors, with 3,100 tickets sold, attendance marking a return to normal after the pandemic.
