Through festivals, the Department puts culture in the spotlight.

The Val d’Oise has made cultural influence in its territories one of its priorities. This is why, in 2024, it supported no fewer than 17 festivals.

Anxious to offer a cultural offering throughout the territory, Val d’Oise is renewing its support for the associations and communities behind numerous cultural events in the Department, including festivals.

These music, street arts, circus and cinema festivals greatly contribute to the dissemination of artistic creation and diversity. They are developing a range of events (concerts, shows, exhibitions, screenings, etc.), cultural actions and awareness-raising in the Valois region.

Every year, the Val d’Oise festivals conquer new audiences. In 2023, they were attended by more than 64,000 people, the programs were deployed in around fifty municipalities, including 28 with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. More than 7,000 young people benefited from cultural activities linked to these events.

“Culture is a fine dish that is shared and above all experienced during special moments like festivals. If strengthening access to culture is one of the priority missions of our Department, it is because it is the most effective way to create links between individuals from all backgrounds, but also to forge our imaginations and to nourish a base of shared values. We are lucky in Val d’Oise to have high-quality festivals which have the merit of appealing to all sensibilities and all ages. This is why we support, throughout our territory, all the actors and partners who contribute to the cultural vitality of Val d’Oise! » underlines Marie-Christine Cavecchi, President of the Val d’Oise Department.
