Olivier Frébourg wins the 3e edition of the Denis Tillinac Prize for his book Only brother published by Editions Mercure de France. At the initiative of the Allier department, this distinction pays tribute to the journalist and writer Denis Tillinac.

It rewards a work that is in keeping with the spirit of the author: provincial France, respect for its identity and its enhancement, friendship and the French art of living. A prize that aims to strengthen local policy in favor of public reading and culture.

Only brother narrates the life of Thierry Frébourgprofessor of genetic medicine at the Rouen University Hospital and brother of the author. He traces the chain of events that led to his sudden death following a medical error during a hospital stay. Olivier Frébourg evokes brotherly love and denounces the failure of the public hospital service. “A professor of medicine led to his death by the hand of his own hospital is a parable of the collapse of our common home: the public hospital. »

Founder of the Ecuadorians

Olivier Frébourg is a journalist, author and editor, he writes in several newspapers Release au Figaro through other foreign newspapers. He became literary director of Editions de La Table Ronde from 1992 to 2003 and founded Editions des Équateurs that same year.

The writer from Dieppe and passionate about the sea, received multiple awards in his career, notably the Deux-Magots 1990 for Roger Nimier. Trafficker of insolence (Les éditions du Rocher), the December 2011 prize for Gaston and Gustave (Le Mercure de France) or the 2014 Jean Freustié prize with The great swimmer (The Mercure de France).
