“My daughter almost lost her father”: Kendji Girac speaks for the first time after his gunshot wound

Singer Kendji Girac posted a video on Instagram on Wednesday June 26 in which he apologizes to his loved ones and fans. He was shot and wounded last April.

This is the first time since May 10 that Kendji Girac has addressed his fans. The singer posted a four-minute video on Instagram to apologize and discuss his gunshot wound last April. “For some time now, I had gotten into bad habits, I got into a spiral that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Despite the advice of those around me.”

The author of Gypsy Color was hospitalized on April 22 near Bordeaux for a serious gunshot wound to the chest, which occurred while he was in Biscarrosse, in the Landes. “I want to apologize to you. As you know, I almost lost my life, the love of my family, my fans, my friends. My daughter almost lost her father. I don’t know what happened. I don’t intend to do all those things again,” he emphasizes, moved.

Justice has decided

If he has not spoken for weeks, it is because he wanted to “let justice do its work”. During the day of Monday, June 24, the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan, Olivier Janson ruled that the shot which caused the injury to the chest was indeed caused “voluntarily” by Kendji Girac.

“The investigation carried out made it possible to formally exclude the intervention of a third party in the occurrence of the shooting. The procedure was therefore closed without further action.”

In this case, Kendji Girac committed two offenses: acquisition and possession of a category B weapon, and illicit use of narcotics (the singer had consumed cocaine that evening).

The winner of The Voice in 2014 concludes the video. “I know which path to take, everything is clear to me, I just have to grasp it.”
