The music festival was an opportunity for the municipality and its partners to announce its cultural-commercial program for the summer season, with the nocturnal events at the forefront.
Evenings on Fridays and Saturdays
“Our night shopping formula was dusty, dare we say it”explains Christophe Mondoloni, notably in charge of festivities and events in the city of Ajaccio. “With our partners we implemented a new formula last year which was very successful.”
Every Friday evening, starting July 5, from 6 p.m. to midnight, night shopping will be back and accompanied by a village of artisans and creators on Place Foch. This village will also be present on Saturday. In total, 70 creators and artisans will share the space.
On this occasion, the Miséricorde car park shuttle will also be used until midnight.
Festivals and events
“The fact that there are activities alongside night shopping increases attendance, adds Marina Fondacci, president of the federation of Ajaccio merchant associations, In particular, we are going to repeat the big clearance sale at the end of August.”
These commercial operations will be combined with the cultural program of the intercommunal office of the Ajaccian country with great classics such as the Wednesday polyphonies, tastings of Ajaccian wines or even historical reenactments such as the changing of the guard or the Napoleonic days. “This year they will end with the reconstruction of Napoleon’s coronation”specifies Christelle Combette, president of the ILO of Pays d’Ajaccio.
