the essential
For the second year in a row, this cultural trail has been set up in the heart of old Espalion.

This is a very great initiative supported by the Clé and Cit’Art association, chaired by Monique Bonicel. Thirty-eight artists, painters, photographers, writers, poets offered at least one of their works to create an artistic journey going from Square Girbal at the entrance to Foirail to Place du Scaphandrier à la Grave on the other bank. of the Lot. This by going up rue Arthur-Canel, all the way down rue Droite before passing the Pont-Vieux, turn right to go up towards La Grave while taking the Promenade Pierre-Dujols along the Lot. A route far from the main traffic routes ideal for walking and peacefully discovering all these works by local artists.

Movement, theme of the year

The opening took place this Saturday noon in the presence of Sylvie Lacan-Taquet, deputy mayor for culture and several artists who all expressed their pleasure in participating in this initiative which offers a “another dimension than that of traditional exhibitions in galleries while giving amateurs the opportunity to present their works”. The opportunity also to honor the young Baraqueville photographer (but native of Saint-Côme-d’Olt) Nicolas Astruc whose photo was used for the poster of the event. For that “this atmosphere seeker” was able to capture a flight of wild ducks in the morning mist. At his side Patrick Cayrou, Lily Zoloft, Marie Hélène Falgous, Patrick Saillan, Jean Bouldoires, Monique Bonicel… were happy to present their artistic sensitivity finding inspiration in the territory to give photos highlighting it. Delphine Moreau, Patrick Perret, Christèle Puech and Monique Bonical prefer the brush to express themselves. They represented the eleven participating painters. Without forgetting the writer Nicole Pradalier and the singer-songwriter Lionel Salomon who are equally happy to “find yourself in such good company” and show that art has several facets that can blend very well to create an attractive whole. A set which will certainly delight the Espalionnais and visitors enjoying (free and freely) the charms of old Espalion. Without forgetting to thank Monique Bonicel for this happy initiative which contributes to the attractiveness of the city.

Exhibition installed with the support of the town hall from June 15 until October 15.
