The album First Recordingsby Lhasa de Sela and Yves Desrosiers, will be released on September 27 and a first extract, El Cosecherois already available.

First Recordings was recorded in 1994, when Lhasa wanted to convey his emotions, find his voice and tell his life story, thanks to traditional songs from his childhood.

]she sings on El Cosechero.

The album, which will be released in the fall under the Audiogram label, contains 12 refined songs that highlight Lhasa’s voice, accompanied by the meticulous guitar work of Yves Desrosiers. The album will allow listeners to witness the duo’s first attempts which later led them to La Llorona.

It was after making me listen to the songs of his youth that I suggested to Lhasa that he sing some in our repertoire, because I really liked it and his voice in Spanish came to me even more.explains Yves Desrosiers in a press release.

Lhasa was surprised and at the same time happy that I asked her to sing it, she who knew me as a rock and roll guitarist who played for Jean Leloup.
