the essential
Éclats offers you a daring adaptation of this masterful work that is “Le Cid”, with only two actors on stage.

The Éclats association invites you to revisit “Le Cid” on Saturday November 9 at 8:30 p.m. at the Halle aux grains. Discover or rediscover this great theater classic worn by Claire Estelle Murphy and Marc Vermeer, wishing to preserve the universal side of Le Cid which adapts to all audiences. Chimène and Rodrigue love each other passionately, but their families are torn apart… A story of passion, flesh, blood, revenge and betrayal. Is it possible to choose between love and honor? Two actors play all the characters, creating a dynamic, tragic and sometimes comic universe, punctuated by musical interludes composed for the show, as well as interpretations by Gabriel Fauré and Tchaikovsky. Marc Vermeer plays all the male characters, moving from one to the other with incredible ease, modifying his voice, his posture or his accessories to bring each protagonist wonderfully into existence, without ever falling into caricature. Claire-Estelle Murphy is a moving Chimène, whose emotions transcend the spectators. It was in 2015 in the role of Iphigénie by Jean Racine at the Antibéa theater that she revealed herself and decided to join the capital. Winning bet! Here she is today on display in many Parisian theaters where she satisfies her passion for great authors like Feydeau, Musset and Racine. She also performs in two children’s shows and at the Ranelagh theater where she plays Solange Sand, the daughter of George Sand, in Les Amants de Nohant, alongside pianist Claude Kahn and countertenor Fabrice Di Falco. Full price: €18 (reduced prices of €12 and €5). Reservation: www.eclats-lavaur.com.
