The International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), has announced the launch of registrations for the 23rd edition of the Prize of the 5 Continents of La Francophonie (2024-2025).

A project designed and supported by the OIF, this Prize aims to highlight literary talents reflecting the expression of cultural and editorial diversity in the French language on five continents.

It is open to narrative works of fiction (novel, story, collection of short stories) written in French and published on behalf of a publisher, between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024, by a French-speaking publishing house with a publishing circuit. distribution in bookstores.

Reception of the works will take place until July 31, 2024 at the latest, indicates the international organization on its website.

The Prize for the last edition went to Quebec author of Egyptian origin Eric Chacour for his novel “Ce que je sais de toi”, published by Editions Alto (Canada-Québec) and Editions Philippe Rey (France).

Created in 2001 by the OIF, the Prix des cinq continents de la Francophonie rewards each year an original narrative fiction text (novel, story and collection of short stories).

It highlights literary talents reflecting the expression of cultural and editorial diversity in the French language on five continents.

The winners receive an amount of 15,000 euros (5,000 euros for the jury’s special mention) and benefit from promotional support for a whole year, with the OIF ensuring their participation in literary meetings, events and international fairs.
