The courtyard of the emblematic Nîmes hotel was crowded this Wednesday, May 15 in the evening, for this first big evening of the Feria which put the spotlight on two young future matadors.

It has become a tradition: the Mundillo of the Nîmes construction industry launched the Feria 2024, this Wednesday, May 15, with some 1,800 people gathered in the courtyard of the Imperator hotel.

And for this 14th edition, the association has, once again, decided to support young French matadors. For Eric Rodier, president and organizer of the event, this “helping hand”, this presentation, is symbolic: “It is both an opportunity for these budding matadors to be officially presented and recognized, but also to show the support that the business world gives to bullfighting.”

Lalo by Maria and Nino Julian in the spotlight

And, like the Nîmes bullfighter Solalito last year, Lalo de Maria, who will take his alternative to the Feria des Vendanges, was offered a check for €7,000, in order to finance his costume of light. Who will be “in the light of white”specifies the latter, very moved at the announcement of the news. “My costume was designed by the Nîmes painter Jonathan Veyrunes, who is also my friend. It’s a magnificent human adventure, an honor to receive this unconditional support.”

Alongside Lalo de Maria, young Nino Julian will benefit from a budget of €3,000 to organize a tenua. After the time for speeches and the fear of getting stuck in the rain, music, champagne and good humor could punctuate these first moments of celebration.
