Jannik Sinner is indeed the man of the 2024 tennis season. The Italian world No. 1 won the Shanghai Masters 1000 on Sunday, beating Novak Djokovic (ATP 4) in the final in straight sets, 7-6 (7/4) 6-3.

Sinner signed his 65th victory of the season to take his seventh title of the year, the third in Masters 1000 after those of Miami and Cincinnati. He enforced logic against Djokovic who will have to wait before lifting a 100th trophy.

The 23-year-old Italian, winner of the Australian Open and the US Open, made the difference in the deciding game of a first set which saw neither player seize the opposing serve . In the second set, he made the break while leading 2-1 before calmly finishing to win the 17th title of his career.

Already assured of ending the year as world No. 1, Jannik Sinner will try to finish in style at -Bercy and at the Turin Masters, at home.
