With Sparking Zero just released, players around the world are learning about the power levels of its characters. Beyond Vegetto, Gogeta and other Goku Ultra Instinct, the game finally answers an eternal Dragon Ball debate: who is the most powerful antagonist of the original work?

After more than a year and a half of waiting, DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is finally available. Heir to the Budokai Tenkaichi series (of which it is the fourth episode without saying the name), it offers spectacular fights faithful to the anime, which explains all the hype from fans. As a result, the title already seems to be a hit as it breaks records on Steam, becoming the most played fighting game on the platform, no less. In its quest for fidelity to the base material, the title attempts to establish the power ranking of the forces based on the anime and manga. And clearly, Spike Chunsoft’s game takes a stand on Dragon Ball Z’s strongest antagonist.

Who is the most powerful antagonist in DBZ?

In the Dragon Ball community, if there is one debate that has always agitated fans, it is that of knowing who is the most powerful antagonist of the original work. To be more precise, the real question is: who is stronger between Majin Boo (pure) and Majin Boo (evil) after absorbing Gohan? To go faster, we prefer to call them Kid Boo and Boohan, a contraction of Boo and Gohan.

If this debate takes place, it is because Kid Boo is the very last enemy defeated by Goku and Vegeta at the end of Dragon Ball, while Boohan absorbed Piccolo, Gotenks and Gohangiving him their strengths in addition to his basic ones. And since Akira Toriyama has never settled the debate himself, probably because it’s not the type of thing that interests him, fans have been arguing about this for years. But now it’s Sparking Zero’s turn to give his answer to the debate.

Kid Boo vs Boohan, who is stronger?

In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you can rank characters based on their DP, i.e. their Power of Destruction. Concretely, it is the sum of their different statistics which allows them to be arranged in order of power. So, it’s no surprise that Whis is the strongest fighter in the game, while Mr.Satan is at the bottom. When it comes to antagonists across all series, Zamasu fused in his corrupted form wins. On the other hand, As for Dragon Ball Z, Sparking Zero is clear: Boohan is stronger than Kid Boo, by far. As you can see in our Fast at the top of the page, the two characters are far from side by side when you sort the characters in order of power.

That said, Kid Boo defenders can always argue that Sparking Zero is far from reliable in ranking characters by power. After all, he allows himself to put Goku in Super Saiyan 3 in front of Goku in Super Saiyan God, while the film Battle of Gods clearly shows the downpour. In any case, one thing is certain: the game will revive the debate which is not ready to endespecially with the disappearance of Akira Toriyama whose words alone could have closed the question for good.
