Saint-Céré. A concert in the beautiful Sainte-Spérie church

Saturday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m., the Saint-Céré Rotary Club, from the 170th Rotary district, will offer a concert at the Sainte-Spérie church in Saint-Céré. It is therefore in this fabulous monument that is the current church of Romanesque origin that a moment of musical emotions will take place.

Blandine Piccinini on organ and Laurent Jammes on trumpet will share the works of Bach, Gounod, Vivaldi, Sweeling, Saint-Saens, Handel, Buxteude…

This church contains treasures that the natives of the city do not necessarily know, such as this crypt where there is an altar table carved in flat which may date from the 10th century or 11th century, which we can discover during the concert or rediscover. Coming to the church during the concert will be an opportunity to see the result of the numerous modifications experienced by the monument. Indeed, apart from the crypt, there are no more traces of constructions prior to the 13th century. The church and its crypt have been listed as historic monuments since April 23, 1979.

We can bet that the concert proposed by the Rotary Club will fill, like previous editions, this building with an audience happy with this musical interlude in the cool but rich autumn.
