From our special correspondent in Malmö (Sweden)

“We love you, we believe in you, Slimane we love you, the trophy this year is for France and it’s for you! » An improvised choir of 207 voices was formed a stone’s throw from the hotel of the French delegation in the center of Malmö this Thursday to support the French representative at Eurovision. The members of the OGAE France association who traveled to Sweden had arranged to meet at midday to meet the singer and pose for a souvenir group photo.

“We’ve been organizing this kind of gathering since 2016. Amir’s rehearsals had gone badly, so we wondered what we could do to cheer him up,” says Stéphane Chiffre, the president of the club. We therefore set up a meeting with the artist to show him that we are there, that we are behind him and since then, we have continued this with each edition, except in 2021 for Barbara Pravi because the health constraints with Covid do not did not allow it. »

“We sing for fervor”

“It’s important to come every year to show our support for the artist who represents us and it’s also a moment that allows us to get together with fans. It makes the experience even more human,” says Florence from Rennes.

“We know that Slimane is very busy. It’s really nice that he took the time to come see us,” rejoices Jean-Baptiste. Coming from Paris, he saw his first Eurovision there.

The main interested party exchanged a few words with some fans. And, obviously, messages have been passed. “It reminds us that we are not alone, that we sing for a country, for a fervor,” said Slimane as he left.
