Seal, the singer with the sublime melancholic voice, is celebrating 30 years of success with a French tour that will stop at the Zénith in on October 7.

Seal’s recent vital signs date back only a few months. No album in the hold, no, but a sold-out concert in as well as two collaborations on the latest album of his ex-producer Trevor Horn: “Echoes – Ancient & Modern” (2023) and his previous one “Trevor Horn Reimagines The Eighties” (2019).

On one, the Londoner’s husky baritone voice was on “Steppin’Out” (a Joe Jackson track from the album “Night & Day”) and on the other, on the no less famous “Ashes To Ashes” by David Bowie. Since then, the news reached fans a few months ago, the Francophile Seal is getting ready to hit the road again across for six dates including Toulouse on October 7, in order to celebrate his 30 years at the top of the hit parades in style.

Pop-soul-R&B romanticism

The British sexagenarian, of Brazilian and Nigerian origin, has come a long way. He was given up for adoption due to insufficient family income, studied architecture and entered the world of music in his twenties in the 1980s with the group Push before starting his solo career.

It would not be long before such notable titles as “Killer”, “Crazy” (1991) or “Kiss From A Rose” (1987), “Love’s Divine” (2003), “A Change Is Gonna Come” (2008) appeared on FM airwaves, which would bring the artist international recognition.

A duet with Mylène Farmer in 2001, “Les Mots”, and a huge success for the album “Soul” released in 2008 (sold 800,000 copies) will have contributed to ensuring a continual presence in musical programming, heads and hearts.
