Stronger Together! To the Women Metronum Academy (WMA), women’s voices are louder!

Based on the principle of artistic mentoring, this system is intended for women, in all their plurality, carrying out a solo project in the field of contemporary music. It aims in particular to establish virtuous working relationships, to share experiences, develop networks and assert one’s legitimacy.

“WMA is a device I wish I had known about when I started in music.”, confides the artist Flèche Love, mentor in 2022. “It is necessary because it gives strength and legitimacy to artists who are starting out and who are often isolated. Without support, they can end up giving up, or even find themselves in dangerous contexts for them, which is what happened to me. The WMA does not only encourage these artists, they also train them, in particular with the help of the association La Petite, to better defend themselves and respond to sexist attacks.”

This year, it’s the new nuggets Anaïs Rosso and Augusta who benefited from the program. Sandra Nkaké and La Chica have respectively been their mentors during the past year.

After months of support and stage and creative coaching, they will both go on stage to “present” their work, alongside their mentors, on the occasion of the Women Metronum Academy Festivalfrom September 18 to 22.

After Flavia Coelho in 2022 and Aloïse Sauvage in 2023, AYỌ is in turn succeeding the godmothers of the festival of Women Metronum Academy.

Singer, songwriter and performer, AYỌ is a rare artist whose smooth and powerful voice transports you from the first notes. Born to a Nigerian father and a German mother, she draws her roots from soul, folk and reggae to create unique and vibrant music.
