Playwright and performing arts programmer in Germany and Belgium, Elisa Liepsch will take over the direction of the Belluard Bollwerk Festival for the 2025-2027 editions. The assembly of members of the association was seduced by her artistic project for the next three editions.

Elisa Liepsch will take up her duties next October, the Belluard Bollwerk International association announced on Tuesday. The playwright succeeds Laurence Wagner, who has programmed five editions of the event dedicated to the performing arts.

“Belluard Bollwerk has a long history of courageous artistic forms and radical aesthetics. It is in this spirit that I wish to continue to develop the festival as a site of artistic research, co-learning and transformation,” confides the new director, quoted in the press release.

The new management will focus not only on launching new issues, but also on the audience, the local context and the way the festival is organised. The 42nd edition of Belluard Bollwerk will take place from 26 June to 5 July 2025.
