The Minister Delegate for Health and Prevention, Frédéric Valletoux, announced that physiotherapists will soon be able to provide “My prevention assessment” appointments.
This system simplifies access to a medical appointment with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, midwives and therefore soon physiotherapists, for French people aged 18 to 25, 45 to 50, 60 to 65, and 70 to 75 years old. It aims to address the patient’s lifestyle habits, identify risk factors, and carry out screenings, among other things. The system is being generalized and the public authorities hope that every French person will benefit from at least four appointments in their life.
Hearing care professionals soon?
For the moment, there is no indication that “My prevention assessment” will be extended to hearing care professionals. However, the question of hearing is not completely absent either since it is mentioned in the 16 thematic fact sheets published by Health Insurance, for the attention of health professionals, as part of the early prevention of loss of hearing. autonomy via the evaluation of six functions: mobility, memory, nutrition, psychological state, vision and hearing.
Some advice is also provided to protect your hearing, such as lowering the volume of the TV, telephone, music; wear earplugs or earmuffs during noisy activities; take quiet breaks; open your windows when it’s quieter outside. The question is also present in the “My prevention assessment” self-questionnaires made available by Health Insurance.
