Father convicted of sexual assault
After a closed hearing, the criminal court yesterday sentenced a 50-year-old man to two years of suspended probation for having committed sexual assaults on his daughter for 18 months. The events took place in the east of the department between September 2018 and the end of May 2020. His parental authority was withdrawn because the victim is still a minor. He is prohibited from having contact with her. Several additional sentences were handed down, such as a ban on exercising an activity with minors for 10 years and ineligibility for 5 years. He is required to seek treatment and compensate the victim to the tune of 3,200 euros. His name is entered in the register of perpetrators of sexual or violent offences (Fijais).

An 18-year-old female driver ended up in a ditch on Monday at around 7:50 a.m. on Rue de l’Holme in Saint-Julien-Chapteuil. She was reportedly bothered by a mosquito in the passenger compartment and lost control of her car while trying to chase it away.
