Esteban Ocon really can't get enough of his Alpine!

The French Alpine driver was very disappointed after his 11th place during qualifying for the Las Vegas GP, which took place this Saturday morning.

Mixed fortunes for the Alpine F1 Team drivers this Saturday morning during qualifying for the Las Vegas GP. While Pierre Gasly surprisingly set the third best time in Q3, Esteban Ocon was eliminated in Q2 and will start in 11th place on Sunday. A difference in performance which annoys the Norman.

Esteban Ocon (Alpine F1 Team) frustrated by his performance in Las Vegas

In a reaction to broadcaster Canal+, at the end of the qualifying session, Ocon (Alpine F1 Team) could not contain his frustration after this frustrating performance. “Frustrating, yes, it’s clear that the whole weekend was frustrating on our side” he insisted.

Then, he publicized the many problems with his Alpine this weekend. “Unfortunately we have had difficulties with this car since Austin: we lack grip, we spin a lot. It's difficult for us to bring speed into the corners. There are a good five tenths that have gone from Austin, and in the dry it makes a big difference.”

He hopes to fight for points this Sunday

Esteban Ocon also returned to his objective for Sunday's race. “That's what I hope, that we manage to fight for points, that we manage to have a good race without too much degradation and that we manage to recover where we need to. But for the moment the speed we have does not deserve to get into the points, so it will take factors external to the speed.” A sine qua non condition if the Frenchman wants to score valuable points before leaving Alpine F1 to join Haas next season.
