Continuation of the eighth day, including AJA’s victory over Reims this Sunday, during the Ligue 1 multiplex.
Air for Auxerre. Beaten in five of the last six days, the Burgundians defeated Reims (2-1) this Sunday, during the eighth day of Ligue 1. Rémois who nevertheless presented themselves with the bib of sixth in the standings. AJA is now 12th in the French championship rankings, dominated by Paris-SG. In the other matches this Sunday afternoon, Nice was held to Nantes (1-1), while Toulouse only took one point against the Angevin red lantern (1-1).
Auxerre creates a surprise
It’s the surprise of the day. Fifteenth at the start of the match, Auxerre created a surprise by beating Stade de Reims at home 2 goals to 1. After a strong start to the match, Sinaly Diomande opened the scoring for the Burgundians in the 16th minute. Auxerre then missed a great opportunity to double the lead as Florian Ayé saw his penalty saved by Diouf in the 34th minute. On a well-executed counterattack, Traoré doubled the lead for Auxerre in the 52nd minute. Rémois Nakamura reduced the score in the 90+5th minute, just before the end of added time. Auxerre is now 12th and Reims 6th.
Nantes and Nice back to back
In a low-intensity match, the Nantais and the Niçois separated in a draw 1 goal all. After a first half to Nice’s advantage, it was Nantes who opened the scoring in the 67th minute thanks to a header from Mathis Abline. But this advantage only lasted 5 minutes: Nice equalized in the 72nd minute thanks to a very good strike in the area from Evann Guessand. Nice then pushed to win but without success. Nantes is now 9th and Nice 8th. The Aiglons travel to Ferencvaros on Thursday in the Europa League.
Angers misses the mark in Toulouse
In the match of fear, Angers and Toulouse separated in a 1-1 draw. Thanks to a very good header from Niane, it was Angers who opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Returning to the locker room with a logical advantage, Angers missed the mark in the 57th minute. Abdelli indeed saw his penalty saved by Remains. Toulouse’s Joshua King finally equalized in the 64th minute. The draw seems rather logical given the match. Angers is now 17th with 4 points and Toulouse 15th with 6 points.
