The Classic Loire Atlantique will not celebrate its 25th edition scheduled for March 22, 2025. A painful but inevitable decision, taken by the organizers in the face of financial constraints caused by the loss of public subsidies. Since its creation, this race has seen many great runners win, like Paul Lapeira (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) last year. However, recent economic difficulties and lack of funding have made it impossible to hold this event, depriving the FDJ French Cup a milestone at the start of the season.

The organization's press release:
“The organizing committee of the Classic Loire Atlantique announces with regret the cancellation of its 25th edition, initially scheduled for Saturday March 22, 2025. This difficult decision was taken due to financial constraints caused by the loss of crucial subsidies from local authorities.
Since its creation, the Classic Loire Atlantique has brought together Cycling enthusiasts in a spirit of conviviality and competition. However, recent economic challenges and the lack of necessary public funding have made it impossible to hold the event this year. The organizing committee would like to express its gratitude to all the participants, partners and volunteers who have supported the Classic in recent years.
Even going through this difficult time, we remain optimistic and determined. The organizing committee has already started preparation work for the return of the Classic Loire Atlantique in 2026. We are convinced that this break will be an opportunity to rethink our model and find new sources of financing in order to to offer an event of exceptional quality to our loyal participants.
