Robert Sánchez’s position as Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper has been called into question on several occasions this season, and the noise around him will only increase following his blunder against Wolves.
The Blues’ 3-1 victory was marred by a gross hand fault from the London goalkeeper.
Chelsea had dominated most of the first half, taking the lead through Tosin Aradabioyo, but the visitors came back into the game just before the break, equalizing in the fifth minute of added time.
Sánchez gave them a helping hand by letting the ball slip out of his hands from a Matheus Cunha corner, allowing Matt Doherty to push the ball into the empty goal.
-It was the Spanish goalkeeper’s fourth error that led to a goal this season.
Scorers after this ball, Marc Cucurella (60th) and Noni Madueke (65th) offered victory to Chelsea. The Blues are back in 4th place in the English championship.
