With four victories under his belt, Primoz Roglic is the only rider capable of obtaining the record for the number of successes in the Tour of Spain. But his Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe team decided not to send him to La Vuelta 2025.
Primoz Roglic (35 years old) will not be able to fight for fifth victory over The Vuelta 2025. In fact, his team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe decided to send it to the Giro and the Tour de France. Primoz Roglic, expected at the Giro and the Tour rather than La Vuelta
Despite his status within the team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, Primoz Roglic apparently had no say in the matter. “These are the priorities of the sponsors and the team, so that’s how it happened”explained Patxi Villasports director, to the newspaper Mark. And to add: “On his wish list he wants to become the rider with the most La Vuelta final victories, but this year the team made the decision for him to do the Giro and the Tour.”
The fact that Tadej Pogacar should be present at Tour of Spain did not change the plans of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and of Primoz RoglicVila continued: “We have chosen what is best for ourselves. Before Pogacar declared that he was thinking of the Tour-Vuelta double, we had already decided to do the Giro and the Tour with Primoz.”
