Émile Daems, winner of Paris-Roubaix in 1963, has died at the age of 86.

The Belgian cyclist also won the Tour of Lombardy in 1960, Milan-Sanremo in 1962, four stages of the Tour de (one in 1961 and three in 1962) and two of the Tour of Italy (1960).

To win Paris-Roubaix, the Brussels native beat his compatriot Rik Van Looy, the great classics specialist of the 1960s.
