“I use this systematically”: Loïs Openda reveals her astonishing tips for shining on the pitch

Guest of the German television show “Aktuellen ZDF-Sportstudio” on Saturday, Loïs Openda revealed some of his tips that allow him to shine on the pitch.

In order to better manage his hormonal stimulation, the 24-year-old RB Leipzig striker uses glasses therapy. Before sleeping, he puts on glasses with yellow lenses. “I use glasses to let as little light as possible reach my eyes“, Openda said after the 0-2 victory in Mainz. “Thus, light is filtered and the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, is less affected“.

In the morning, when he wakes up, he changes color and wears blue glasses. “So that my brain understands that it’s daytime“. Thus, a large amount of light must reach the eye and the production of the hormone cortisol is stimulated.

Openda has scored five goals for Leipzig in ten games this season, the second he has played for the German side. He found the net again last Monday with the Red Devils, against , scoring his 3rd goal in 24 caps.

The 24-year-old from Liége also explained his trick which allows him, despite his 1m77, to quite often get the best of the head over taller and more robust defenders.

This is the “Bounce fans“, a small push with the upper body to briefly unbalance the opponent. This allows him to gain a little lead. “I use this systematically” recognized Loïs Openda who scored 28 goals in 45 games during his first season with the Bundesliga club.
