Fabrice Blévin writes an open letter to Michel Callot – News

The massacre in the National clubs, and in particular the disappearance of two Breton N1 teams, pushed Fabrice Blévin, as president of Team Adris-La Crêpe de Brocéliande-BLC, to write an open letter to Michel Callot, president of the FFC. This open letter therefore arrives after the judgment of Morbihan Adris Gwendal Oliveux and Cre’Actuel-Marie Morin-U 22 (read here) and at the start of the electoral campaign to elect the President of the FFC, Fabrice Blévin alludes to it at the end of his letter.

The former pro runner from the Mutuelle de Seine-et- addresses Michel Callot, quoting him. “You have held your mandate for eight years and aspire to “a little time to put the federation back in the hands of the next team in a peaceful transition” (…) At least I grant you this observation, serenity is absent today, and you are partly responsible for it“.

SRAV: “FEDERAL SUPPORT FOR ABSENT SUBSCRIBERS”

When Fabrice Blévin finds points of agreement with the President of the federation, it is also to point out differences. This is the case on the subject of the professionalization of clubs. “The delay in our sport is not new and if you make the right diagnosis, the remedy should not be limited to deploying programs, it is still necessary to prepare and support their implementation on the ground“. The manager takes the example of Knowing How to Ride a Bike for which an FFC report highlighted La Crêpe de Brocéliande (read here). “We took up this project but it was never implemented with federal support.he regrets. It is indeed the will of the elected representatives of the territory which made it possible to release the necessary funding, the federation having abandoned the delegation of management of the latter in favor of the FUB (Federations of Bicycle Users) and leaving the orphan clubs in a system that they could no longer master with you. (…) Barely half of the “departments” benefit from the funding, thus highlighting the probable lack of awareness and federal support for absent subscribers“.

Fabrice Blévin then tackles “the security issue [qui] is THE absolute PRIORITY. For our young people on the roads, for our competitors and for our organizers. The latter are faced with ever greater prefectural and financial constraints“. In his open letter, he puts “mirror“the security and organization of the Super World Championship in 2027,”“YOUR BIG PROJECT” of tomorrow…. However, there is a security emergency, and the federation must make it its absolute priority. Without security Mr. President, there will be no more competitions due to lack of runners“.

“A REVIEW IS NOT A PROGRAM”

Then, Fabrice Blévin tackles the subject of amateur cycling “at an existential crossroads. High-level teams disappear or suffer a demotion due to lack of resources (…) Your response consists of increasing the specifications that everyone is already struggling to fulfill without ever calling into question the model“. The President of the club candidate for the N2 also criticizes the creation of the Conti Fédérales. “Worse, your latest decisions bring us into open war with the professional world, while the first return on the investment that is training, is put in place by your predecessor within the UCI (he mentions the training allowances put in place by the UCI, the sums of which however remain modest, Editor’s note). This results in division within the elite where union and solidarity will be necessary tomorrow to advocate security issues, and clarify the role of each in reaching the high level.“. He concludes this chapter with “However, it is you who are the head of this “system”. This system which today sees teams disappearing due to the gap which exists between economic reality and your requirements. The crisis was brewing. Discontent was growing. The situation today is dramatic“.

Fabrice Blévin finishes his letter on the electoral field. “You boast of your skills acquired through your experience within the federation. Your exemplary rise from the “club” to the departmental, regional and then federal committees is, according to you, a guarantee of success for “ claim national missions »“. He then puts on his airplane pilot uniform, “Mr. President, the ability to master a system and pilot it is not a guarantee of success if you do not have the right flight plan. Knowing how to make it evolve, make it adapt to its environment and respond to its crucial challenges, is in my opinion much more important“. He concludes with the upcoming duel between Michel Callot and Teodoro Bartuccio. “Today, no one has the content of their program, just ideas. However, you declare this project ” random “ in view of your “solide with” and trust the clubs for your re-election (the clubs will count for 50% of the votes, Editor’s note). A report is not a program. Your seniority in the role, your experience and your knowledge of the issues should, on the contrary, allow you to have concrete answers to the challenges of this election. The subjects are the same as four years ago, but their seriousness has unfortunately come to light in dramatic sequences. It is the strength of the proposals on these essential issues that will dictate my position. Without concession“.
