“This is the snack”says Camille Duvelleroy, director of the film Les Burgers Volants. A fast-food restaurant has been recreated from scratch in the canteen of the third-party Bliiita restaurant in . Fake burgers and fake sauces are placed on the counter. “We are at Veggie Bun Bun, the restaurant where Lou and Malik, our two heroes, work”she continues. Everything is in place to capture the feature film, Thursday October 10, and broadcast it live.

Lou and Malik, in their twenties, dream of opening a food truck together. But during one evening, their friendship and their project are put to the test. This is the synopsis of the fiction Les Burgers Volants, which will be broadcast simultaneously on Arte ’s Youtube and Twitch channels. This is a first for director Camille Duvelleroy. “We’re going to have 19 actors on set, I have to manage 13 cameras live for two and a half hours. We’re getting close to a live TV show,” she explains.

One beginning, six alternative endings

This fiction is all the more special because it is interactive : spectators will be able to react live in the comments of “live-streams”live broadcasts on the Internet, to guide the actions of the characters on screen. Should he lie? Should he take off his cap? “The spectators will vote and choose the continuation of the story because the scenario is entirely pre-written”adds the director. The actors are then notified by earpiece of the scenario to follow. In its entirety, the Flying Burgers scenario is 700 pages and features six alternate endingsonly one of which will ultimately be shown on screen.

Filmed entirely in Metz

This branching fiction, supported by Arte, is filmed in its entirety at third place Bliiita in Metz. “I really wanted to film in Metz”confides Lorraine Fabien Giurgiu, from the production company Fourmi Rouge, behind the film. “And when we were shown the premises, it was really totally in line with what we were looking for: a creative, innovative place… We are halfway between fiction, video games and live shows. And this The place was perfect, everything we were looking for was gathered here.”concludes Fabien Giurgiu.

Filming will begin at the same time as the live, Thursday October 10 at 7:30 p.m. The streamer Ponce, who has 340,000 subscribers on X, will introduce the program during a pre-live on the Arte France YouTube channel.
