The Minister of Finance of Senegal, Cheikh Diba, met during the month of September with the singer and boss of the Futurs Medias press group, Youssou Ndour, according to information reported by the magazine “ConfidentielDakar” cited by DakarActu.
This meeting aimed to calm tensions between the press group and the new regime. At the end of the exchange, it was agreed that members of the government, including ministers and senior executives, would be regularly invited to the media group’s sets and broadcasts. This would explain the notable presence of officials on the airwaves of Futurs Medias last week.

Youssou Ndour also clarified that his group remains open to all political tendencies, thus affirming its editorial neutrality.
The press release does not mention whether the question of tax debts was addressed during the hearing, but it should be noted that the press group still has a debt of around ten billion CFA francs owed to the Public Treasury.
