Joachim Gérard started the show by looking back on his fifth and final Games: “It was incredible. All games are different, here there was a difference in terms of atmosphere, crowds and spectators, it was just great.

The famous Belgian wheelchair tennis player is the face of Handicap International’s new “Blue Laces” campaign. He talks about what this initiative represents for him: “It represents childhood memories. When I first played tennis, my father came home with several pairs of blue laces, I put them on my tennis shoes which were white, they came out well, it was really very beautiful Now to be chosen for this campaign is an honor for me.

Thibault Van Hoof returns to the question of accessibility to care in Belgium: “I think that until we are in the situation, we do not realize the daily life of people with reduced mobility. I think there is still a lot to do in training, education to regularly put yourself in the place of people in this situation.” Joachim Gérard continues on the subject: “There are people who cannot afford health care. This care must be accessible to everyone, regardless of the environment in which we live.“.

The ghost driver who committed a fatal accident was already involved in a collision the day before

The second part of the show focused on how to act with people who drive under substances, too fast or in the wrong direction. A few days ago, a 25-year-old ghost driver caused a fatal accident on the A19. She was under drugs and allegedly intentionally crashed into another vehicle. Some people are campaigning for justice to be harsher on “road criminals”. Thibault Van Hoof notes a problem: “It’s not normal for someone who goes to court for drug use to end up on the road the next day. At some point we have to be stricter, especially when it concerns drugs. Drugs, compared to alcohol, are something that are prohibited. So if you are caught driving with drugs you have to immobilize the vehicle, seize the license and wait for the trial. We then see if there is the possibility of taking the road or not. We need to be tougher.” Valérie Sohie would like the police to be given more means of analysis.
