Bye Bye Switzerland is a documentary series produced by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SSR), the parent company of swissinfo.ch. The season’s six episodes follow the Schommers, the Waldburgers and the Caboussats during the first months of their new lives in a new country.

In each episode, the audience discovers the latest challenges and surprises faced by the three groups who have emigrated: Dianne and Marco Schommer from the canton of Solothurn want to open a fitness club in Rwanda; Corinne and Ralf Waldburger leave Lake Constance for the Costa Blanca in Spain to run a dog hotel; the Caboussat family leaves Emmental for Germany with the aim of transforming a former water tower on the North Sea into a 40-metre-high café.

In the fourth episode of this series, the covid pandemic makes life even more difficult for the three families. Whether in Rwanda, Germany or Spain, nothing works anymore. After the lockdown, the expatriates try to get back on their feet.
