An essential face of the French musical landscape for several years, Slimane made himself known during his participation in the 5th season of tele-hook The Voice in 2016 on TF1. A program that he ended up winningthus allowing him to officially launch his musical career. Subsequently, the singer had a string of successes. His immense popularity with the public even allowed him to represent France during the most recent edition of Eurovision. However, the musician's public image has been severely damaged in recent weeks. Indeed, Slimane is targeted by two complaints from technicians who worked on his last tour. The first accuses the singer of sexual harassment, while the second claims to have been the victim of sexual assault at the hands of the musician.
For his part, Mediapart published two new compromising testimonies for Slimane Friday November 22, 2024. One of the people cited by the information site would have “received photos of a sexual nature from the artist, in 2019 and 2021, without ever having consented to these sendings“. The other man who testified in Mediapart notably assured that the musician would have been very insistent following an evening in a bar in 2019. “He started sending me pictures of himself and his penis, and insulting me because I wasn't sending anything in return. I told him to stop, telling him he was going to regret it“, he declared. “He told me what happened at the party, which I wasn't at, then showed me messages from Slimane. They were all clearly sexual, there was only ass, it was obvious that Slimane was trying to sexualize everything”also added one of this man's friends.
Slimane affair: testimonies multiply against the musician
For the record, the first technician who filed a complaint for sexual harassment against the singer claimed to have been pressed against a wall by Slimane after a concert at the Zénith in Saint-Etienne in December 2023. The musician also allegedly sent messages and videos of a sexual or even pornographic nature. The second technician who took legal action for acts of sexual assault, assures for his part that Slimane would have placed his erect penis between his buttocks while he was dancing. As a reminder, a preliminary investigation was opened by the public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne against the singer.
Slimane remains innocent of the charges against him until the closure of this case.
