She has definitely turned the page.
Since 2022 and the outcome of the resounding media trial, which pitted her against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has rebuilt her life far from Hollywood.
Now aged 38, the actress now leads a quiet existence near Madrid, Spain.

Amber Heard has in fact settled in the Spanish capital just a few weeks after the verdict of her trial. An exile most certainly motivated by a desire to draw a line under this painful past.
It must be said that the media whirlwind surrounding this complex case was trying for the actress, who had to face an unprecedented wave of cyberbullying. It is also rumored that cinema turned its back on her following her trial. And when we look at her filmography (only 3 films in 3 years, from 2021 to 2024), it is obvious that her career seems to have stalled.

It is therefore to escape this heavy context that the Texan preferred to start a new life on the Old Continent, in Spain, where she seems to flourish a little more each day. She first put down her suitcases on the island of Majorca, where she rented a villa under the pseudonym of Marta Jane Cannary (the real name of the famous Calamity Jane), before finally settling in Madrid. Perfectly adapted to life in Madrid, Amber Heard – who speaks fluent Spanish – feels at home in the Iberian Peninsula. In any case, this is what emerges from the many photos that she regularly posts on her social networks.
Far from the Seventh Art and the tabloid press, she now devotes herself fully to the education of her daughter Oonagh Paige (born April 8, 2021, to a surrogate mother), as one of her friends recounted in 2023 , interviewed by People magazine.

As a reminder, following the publication of an article in 2018 in which she accused – without ever naming him – Johnny Depp of domestic violence, Amber Heard was sued for defamation in 2022 by the latter. The affair thus gave rise to a heated trial which caused much ink to be spilled.
The court ultimately ruled against the actress and ordered her to pay $10 million (€9.3 million) to her ex-husband. In a separate verdict (she was also suing Johnny Depp for defamation), Amber Heard was still awarded $2 million (€1.8 million) in damages.
