“It went to 600 and a few euros”: Chantal Goya reveals the amount of her retirement

Invited on the set, Chantal Goya answered Jordan’s question directly regarding the amount of her retirement. “Everyone knows, the taxes paid increased to 600 and a few euros“, she revealed, surprising the host. This modest amount quickly raised questions about how the artist managed to live with so little. Faced with the astonishment of Jordan de Luxe, Chantal explained: “Well, it’s already better than nothing! At the time, we didn’t have payroll. We were associated with production. We didn’t have a company either.”

Chantal Goya, who was registered with the Bank of France and banned from banking, thus shed light on a reality of artistic careers of past decades. Without a traditional employment contract or company to regulate their income, many artists of his generation, having not contributed, find themselves today with pensions well below the average. However, she did not appear bitter about this situation. “I knew I would work until I was 110, that I would work until the end.”, she added, emphasizing her unwavering passion for her profession. For Chantal Goya, working is much more than a financial necessity, it is a vocation. “I will always work. I like to work, I’ll rest when I’m up there.”

Despite everything, the artist maintains a positive and lively attitude. “But on the other hand, I have everything I need. I have my energy, if there are no more shows tomorrow, I’ll open a little shop with flowers. I will make carrots, turnips… In my head, I have lots of projects!” she concluded.
