If Mathieu is known for always being at the forefront of the latest technological innovations and current trends, he takes a two-week break from this routine. Somewhere near Mont Blanc, in the French Alps, he shares with us the emotions experienced over the past two years.

During his vacation, he chose to be active rather than rest. “ I like challenges and moving. For me, being active is essential. I love putting myself (a little) in danger and testing my limits. And then, I have friends in France that I wanted to visit “, he explains.
Overcoming personal tsunamis
The last two years have been particularly trying for him. Separated from his partner for two years, father of three magnificent children, he had to learn to acclimatize to a new reality as a single parent.
«I went through a few personal tsunamis that were very difficult for me. However, they also allowed me to know myself better. Far be it from me to feel sorry for myself, I know that many people are going through the same thing. Let’s say that when it happens to you, it’s a bit of instinct that guides you. Luckily I had my parents, my friends and my extended family… they were fantastic in this transition. »
In addition to these personal challenges, Mathieu suffered a mountain biking accident, forcing him to rest for several weeks. “Taking care of three children under the age of 10 with just one arm is not trivial… Life has sent me many messages at the same time,” he says with a laugh.
A transformative journey
For Mathieu, this solo trip to Mont Blanc took on the appearance of a personal pilgrimage. “ I think it’s a form of rest, a break that I really needed. This is my first time traveling alone in over 15-20 years. For a social person like me, it’s a great challenge. I love nature and surpassing myself. I also realized that I feel good in the mountains. »
Need to unwind
Mathieu took more vacation than usual this summer, an essential need after hectic years. “ I am extremely pampered professionally. I work with an exceptional team, who are my second family. She has always been wonderfully supportive. There’s a lot of heart and love in what we do, and I think the viewers feel that. »

Back to school to come!
Enthusiastic about the arrival of Ève-Marie, this magnificent trip to the French mountains came at just the right time. It’s a great opportunity for him to take a break before the big fall return: “ This return to school will be even more significant because it will be my 10th year with the Salut Bonjour gang. »
