Thomas Markle, father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has expressed his empathy for King Charles III. During an interview with the ‘Daily Mail’, he mentioned that they were facing similar health issues and were both estranged from Meghan and her husband Prince Harry.

“I would very much like to speak with him, because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do,” he said, referring to the king, who was diagnosed with cancer in February. “None of us deserve the treatment we received,” he added. He is undergoing therapy for cancer and I am not in great shape myself.

Thomas Markle has expressed “deep empathy” for King Charles. “I have so many questions to ask Meghan and Harry,” he told the newspaper. The main one being: Why did they treat me and the royal family and the king so badly?

As he approaches his 80th birthday next month, Thomas Markle pointed out that he still hasn’t met his grandchildren, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. “They have two grandfathers who want to see them, including the King of England,” he said. I would never have imagined, at the age of 80, that I would be in the same situation as the king.”

He explained that children are “getting to an age where they’re going to start asking questions,” and he thinks it’s only a matter of time before they “figure out everything they’ve been missing” in due to the Sussexes leaving their royal duties in 2020 and moving to the United States.

The grandfather, who sold his daughter Meghan’s personal correspondence to the Daily Mail, told the same tabloid that his only wish for his birthday was to receive news from his daughter. He knows, however, that she “won’t make contact.”
