A question that his guests never escape… Friday June 28, 2024, Jordan de Luxe received Pierre Arditi on the set of the show Chez Jordan, on C8. After asking him about his career came the question related to money. “When your name is Pierre Arditi, how much pension do you get?”, asked the journalist. The 79-year-old actor then replied:
“In all honesty, both pensions combined, once I have paid my taxes since it is taken now,
I must receive around 4,500 euros
.

A bit curious, Jordan de Luxe asked him if he thought it was a good retirement. In all transparency, Pierre Arditi indicated that it was “honorable, for someone who worked for 60 years”before adding: “Contrary to what you might think, I don’t get 12,000 eurosor 15,000 euros, or 20,000 euros per month!”.

Pierre Arditi: “There are lots of people who would be happy to touch them!”

Surprised, the journalist then said: “I thought, indeed. And I think that the viewers will also be very surprised by your answer (…) It’s a very nice retirement but you are still Pierre Arditi”. Faced with inflation, Pierre Arditi then replied: “4,500 euros per month, there are lots of people who would be happy to receive that!”.

At one time the actor lost a lot of money. On December 21, 2022, on Europe 1, he indeed said: There was a time when I was on fire. I was a real gambler, that is to say I went to play in clubs and in casinos. One day my narcissism saved me because I was losing myself. I said to myself: ‘It might take me ten years to pay back what I owe’ after having stupidly lost it and having lost my mind. It actually took me ten years to get out of it”.

Pierre Arditi: “I invented things to borrow”

In 2019, for Gala, the actor who will soon celebrate his 80th birthday had already spoken about his addiction to gambling. “I started to invent bogus excuses to stop going to work and go back to play, hoping to get better. I invented things to borrow, I imitated signatures”he revealed.

In complete transparency, Pierre Arditi had specified: “One evening, I lost my vacation money. My wife and my son were waiting for me to leave that morning. When I left the circle, I had fifty balls left (…) Between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., I made phone calls to recover this money. I lied one last time.”.
